-
Prepare for your market as soon as you can. Even if your market is still a week or a month away, preparing your products and booth as soon as possible will save you time, energy, and stress! Believe us when we say that markets come up quicker than you think, and there is nothing worse than arriving at your event to realize that you have forgotten something in the rush.
-
Practice setting up your display ahead of time. Whether you have an intricate or simple display, it is worth practicing setting it before your event's day. This will ensure that you feel confident as you quickly piece it together without feeling overwhelmed. In addition, when you practice putting your display together, you realize that certain things can be done to make the process easier. You might also be able to spot where there’s a weak point in the display and make those adjustments where needed.
-
Sketch out how you would like your booth to be presented. Now that you know how to set up your display, it's time to understand how you want your products to be arranged on your display for maximum potential. It's important to set everything up to be easily seen by your customers. If your customers can't see the products, they likely won't be purchasing them. This sketch will also tell you if you need additional products ( bowls, trays, etc) for your items to go.

Make sure you understand the type of customers coming to the event or market. It can be difficult to know HOW to sell your products without understanding who will be attending the market. Some simple questions you can research are: will these customers be doing their weekly shopping at this market? Is this market a seasonal market? Does the event primarily draw in families, young people, or an older demographic? Educating yourself will let you better prepare your display and products - getting the most out of your market!
-
Use social media to communicate with your customers about the market you're attending. - Even if you don't use your social media account frequently ( which you should...but that's for another blog) make sure you hop on BEFORE your market and let them know all the details about the event. Remember to include: What will be available, where the event/market is being held, how people can get there, and what other vendors will be there too!
